Cocos Keeling & Christmas Island January 2018

Here are a few random photos from my latest trip to the islands.

"Waiting for Godot", well no actually, waiting for a Barau's Petrel. One had been seen regularly so we sat around until dark each night, hoping.

Front section of the 151 foot long clipper Phaeton. A fire broke out in her hold in September 1889 and she was run aground in the lagoon at Cocos Islands.

When the babies come out of the ocean in their millions roads on the island are closed to protect them.
